WATER PROCUREMENT

From April 2017, all businesses including charitable, non-profit organisations and public sector companies in England, will be able to choose their water and sewerage supplier – it doesn’t matter the size of business is nor where it is located.

Now that businesses can switch water and sewerage services, they are able to negotiate better packages to fit their requirements. This may be competitive pricing or more efficient billing depending on the needs of the customer.

We anticipate that the new water market will operate in similar ways to the other utility services whereby a number of different suppliers compete for customers by offering different deals. In other words, the suppliers will buy wholesale services from the former monopoly suppliers and they will then combine them with other value adding services for their customers at competitive prices.

Currently we do not know the different pricing options and tariffs that will be available but from previous experience with other utilities we will be able to assist customers through the process and analyse the market in order to provide businesses with alternative solutions and make an effective choice and savings.
